Kinneil Primary School's Uniform
At Kinneil, we strongly encourage all children to wear school uniform and we ask that parents work with us to make this happen.
Wearing school uniform gives children a sense of belonging and promotes a positive school community. It also enhances the school's reputation within the community and minimises rivalry and bullying that can arise from, for example, the wearing of designer clothing.
Other benefits to wearing school uniform are:
- allows pupils to be easily identified when out of the school, e.g. on trips
- improves school security by making non-pupils more easily identifiable
We have two forms of school uniform: formal uniform and active uniform. Our formal uniform is what is worn most days, and our active school uniform is what children should wear to school on the days they have PE. All children should come to school on the first day in formal uniform. You will be notified within the first week when your child’s PE days are so you can plan accordingly.
Our school uniform consists of:
Formal School Uniform:
- Black trousers / skirt / pinafore
- Yellow or white polo-shirt or white shirt and tie
- Black sweatshirt or cardigan (preferably with the school logo but not essential)
- Appropriate black footwear
Active School Uniform:
- Black jogging bottoms / black leggings / black gym shorts (weather dependant and no hot pants)
- Yellow or white polo-shirt or t-shirt
- Black sweatshirt or cardigan
- Trainers
